The terrorist attack on New York City and Washington on September 11, created a clear and immediate need to provide aid for victims, family members, and rescue support. As a concerned group of business leaders living in the National Capital area, we take that responsibility seriously, and have formed a group named the 911Fund4Relief Committee to make a difference.
We are committed to raising funds to support the efforts of the American Red Cross to mitigate this horrific event and to assist the agency in addressing future events of this nature. Working through the National Capital Chapter, American Red Cross, the 911Fund4Relief Committee is raising money to support Red Cross efforts to provide for the needs of the families and individuals who were so greatly affected by this tragic event. Additionally, those funds may help the Red Cross acquire the resources and organize a system of disaster relief and education in the event of other disaster situations and meet other emerging needs. The committee’s name was selected to both memorialize the date of the tragic events — 9/11 — as well as a reference to the emergency conditions that resulted.
Donations are tax deductible, and can be made either on-line, by check, or by credit card. The National Capital Chapter American Red Cross will provide receipts for all contributions and 100% of the money raised through this initiative will go directly to the American Red Cross for Disaster Relief.
Please call or e-mail Princess L. Gamble, Director, Corporate and Foundation Development of the National Capital Chapter, American Red Cross at (202) 728-6421 or gamblep@usa.redcross.org with any questions.
